The Christmas Society Ball
The Christmas Society Ball (Event) is an annual end-of-year celebration, bringing together members of the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney's University Chaplaincies,
Alumni and the wider Catholic community to celebrate the Christmas season and reflect on the year gone by. The Event offers an elegant evening of joy, fellowship and festivity.
The Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney (Archdiocese) is the organiser of the Event. The Event will take place on 19 December 2026 at 6:45pm until 11:00pm at Sydney
Town Hall, 483 George Street, Sydney NSW 2000.

In order to participate in the Event, participants must complete the online registration
and agree to the Terms and Conditions set out below.
Christmas Society Ball Terms and Conditions
Registration and cancellation
1. Participants must be aged over 18 years old to register to attend the Event.
2. Registration for the Event will close on 6 December 2026 at 6pm.
3. Registration for the Event is through the TryBooking ticketing platform at https://www.trybooking.com/DQKXN.
4. Tickets (either digital or printed copies) must be presented to gain entry to the Event.
5. A registration fee is payable to enter and attend the Event. Registration options include:
a. Student Admission (Early Bird): 50 Student Early Bird Tickets are available for purchase (until sold out) for a Fee of $115.00. Students must demonstrate
enrolment at an Australian university to be eligible to purchase this ticket. Please refer to clauses 13 to 16 regarding the Student Admission verification process.
b. Student Admission: Admission tickets are $125.00 for students. Students must demonstrate enrolment at an Australian university to be eligible to purchase this ticket.
Please refer to clauses 13 to 16 regarding the Student Admission verification process. Note: 200 Student Admission tickets are available for purchase until sold out.
c. Adult Admission (Early Bird): 50 Adult Early Bird Tickets are available for purchase (until sold out) for a Fee of $150.00. These tickets are for adults who are not enrolled in an Australian University.
d. Adult Admission: Admission Tickets are $160.00 for adults who are not enrolled in an Australian University. Note: 170 Adult Admission tickets are available for purchase until sold out.
e. Adult Admission (Final Release/Last Minute): Admission Tickets are $175.00 for adults who are not enrolled in an Australian University. These tickets will be available after standard allocation is sold out.
6. A TryBooking Fee of up to $0.50 + 2.5% of the ticket price is payable per registration which covers booking and administration fees of the TryBooking ticketing platform (TryBooking Fee). All prices are inclusive of GST.
7. The Fee and TryBooking Fee are inclusive of GST.
8. Payment of the relevant Fee and TryBooking Fee is required at the time of registration.
9. If participants cancel registration before 27 November 2026, they will be entitled to receive a full refund of the Fee. Participants are not entitled to a refund of the TryBooking Fee.
10. Participants are not entitled to a refund for a cancellation made on or after 28 November 2026, or in circumstances where you do not attend the Event or in circumstances where participants are refused entry or required to leave the Event
as per clause 18 below. Exceptions for extenuating circumstances will be considered by the Archdiocese on a case-by-case basis.
11. If, for any reason, any part of the Event cannot commence or continue as planned in any respect, the Archdiocese reserves the right to cancel the Event at itsdiscretion.
12. If the Archdiocese cancels the Event under clause 11, participants will be entitled to a refund of the total registration fee paid for the cancelled Event, less the TryBooking Fee.
Student Admission verification
13. If a participant registered for a Student Admission or Student Admission (Early Bird) ticket, the participant must submit a clear image of their valid student ID as proof of current enrolment at an Australian university via the verification link
provided in an automated email sent by the TryBooking ticketing platform.
14. Proof of student status must be submitted by 5:00pm on Wednesday, 16 December 2026. If a Student Admission ticket holder is unable to provide satisfactory proof of student eligibility by this deadline, they must pay the
applicable price difference to upgrade their ticket to an Adult Admission ticket (at the Standard or Final Release/Last Minute price, depending on availability) by the same deadline.
15. Failure to provide valid proof of student status, or to pay the applicable upgrade fee, by the stated deadline will result in the student ticket being voided without a refund, and entry to the Event will not be permitted on a voided ticket.
16. By submitting an image of the student ID, the ticket holder consents to the Archdiocese collecting and storing that image for the purpose of verifying student eligibility for the Event.
Admission to, and Conduct at, the Event
17. All participants must conduct themselves appropriately at the Event.
18. The Archdiocese reserves the right to cancel a ticket prior to the Event by written notice, or to refuse entry to or remove a participant from the Event on the day of the Event, where it considers, at its discretion, that the participant has previously
engaged in inappropriate, disruptive, intoxicated, unsafe, or otherwise unacceptable conduct at an Archdiocesan event, or is acting in an unruly, excessively noisy, intoxicated, inappropriate, or otherwise unacceptable manner.
19. If a participant is refused entry or required to leave the Event under clause 18, that participant will not be entitled to a refund of the Fee or TryBooking Fee.
Filming and photographing
20. I am 18 years of age or above.
21. I may be filmed and/or photographed (Footage) when attending the Event.
22. I agree to and permit the Archdiocese and its nominees using the Footage and my name, image, likeness and voice in accordance with this consent.
23. I consent to the Archdiocese and its nominees, without limitation, using, reproducing, exhibiting, editing, adapting, compiling with other works or materials, transmitting, broadcasting, publishing and distributing the Footage in any media at
its discretion, for educational, promotional, marketing and other purposes (including commercial purposes) associated with the Event, or the Archdiocese’s events, or consistent with the Archdiocese’s (and broader Catholic community’s)
activities and objectives.
24. I acknowledge that the Archdiocese is not obliged to publish or otherwise use the Footage or any part of it.
25. I agree that any form of intellectual property rights in the Footage and all works derived or created under it are owned by the Trustees of the Roman Catholic Church for the Archdiocese of Sydney on behalf of the Archdiocese, and any
intellectual property rights that I may have in the Footage are fully assigned to the Trustees of the Roman Catholic Church for the Archdiocese of Sydney on behalf of the Archdiocese.
26. To the full extent permitted by law, I consent to the doing of anything in relation to the Footage that (but for the consents provided in this Terms and Conditions document) would otherwise infringe any moral rights or similar non-assignable
personal rights that I might otherwise have including but not limited to publishing the Footage without attribution and modifying/adapting the Footage.
Privacy
27. I acknowledge that the Archdiocese and its nominees collect my personal information for purposes of organising the Event and contacting me about activities and initiatives of the Archdiocese, including Eucharist28 events, or
where I have otherwise opted in to receiving communication. The Archdiocese may disclose my personal information to its entity, International Eucharistic Congress Sydney Limited (IECS), so that IECS may contact me
about Eucharist28, and otherwise to the Archdiocese’s related entities, contractors and third-party service providers for purposes relating to the Event.
28. The Archdiocese’s privacy policy available at https://www.sydneycatholic.org/terms-and-conditions/#privacy provides information about how to access and seek correction of personal information, how
to complain about a breach of Australian privacy laws, and how complaints are dealt with.
29. I agree that the laws of New South Wales, Australia govern these Terms and Conditions.
30. I agree where I am purchasing tickets for others that I am responsible for the conduct of the others in my booking and must procure their consent to these terms.
